Prof. Erwan Monier

Erwan is a leading authority in climate change research, with more than 20 years of research experience in climate science. His research has been featured in CNN, The New York Times, BBC News, Newsweek, Scientific American, Forbes, The Boston Globe and Fox News among others. He has published over 40 peer-reviewed articles in scientific journals like Nature, Nature Communications, Earth’s Future, Environmental Science & Technology and Environmental Research Letters. His research has been funded by the U.S. National Science Foundation, the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Economic Development Administration, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, and the National Institutes of Health.

Erwan has taught over 1,000 students about environmental sciences, with a focus on biometeorology, climate change, water and society, and extreme weather. He has given presentations at Universities, organizations and industries across the world on the topics of climate science, climate modeling, climate risks, and crises in the environment among others.

Erwan obtained his PhD in Atmospheric Science at the University of California, Davis. He also holds an Master of Engineering from the INP-ENSEEIHT, a top-ranking French public engineering school. He also spent 9 years working as a researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He currently lives in Davis, California, with his wife and two children.
