Case Studies

Quantifying the climate risks to California almond orchards and identifying adaptation strategies
We examined the impact of future climate change on almond yields across California over the coming decades. We developed a statistical model to quantify the climate risks to specific almond orchards and contrast these risks with the potential for technological improvements. We then identified adaptation strategies to ensure the asset resilience to climate change.

Updating the water budget calculations methodology for California water district
We evaluated the robustness of the current water budget calculations methodology of a California water district using machine learning techniques. We then tested potential updates to the methodology by using high-resolution gridded reference evapotranspiration (ETo) data instead of representative weather station ETo data.
